Got these two for free from a friend of mine...Not that I intend on selling them, but just wondering what they're worth, if anything. One is ~12" and the other ~9"

The most I have ever seen them go for at that size was $20 in a LFS. Privately, they go for much less due to the tank requirements for them. YMMV.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was assuming somewhere around there, but was just curious. Unrelated, but I see in your sig you have Oscars?

I am down to one Oscar at present. So far none of the others worked out for breeding. Will have to post a pic of him shortly.

I'd like to see! I have one as well. Here's a video of mine.

xSupra, don't you find it difficult to keep that tank clean, what with it being on the floor? (cute lil oscar baby, btw!).

common plecos are hard to rehome once they've got some size to them, so their monetary value is pretty low. not everyone has the big tank to keep them properly, so nobody really wants them.

Nah it's not very hard to keep clean, and only on the floor til around Christmas time when I can get a stand.

There is a pet store around here that tries to sell large common plecos for rediculous prices. They had an 8" one for 59.99 and a 12" one for 74.99. I wonder if they ever actually get that for them. They're neat fish, but I would never want one in my aquarium. Too large, hate the mile long poops, and I've seen them chase and suck onto other fish.

I love the smaller species though. Bristlenose and Rubber lipped.
