I've been really liking the looks of some of the planted tanks on here, and would like to plant my 10 gallon tank. It currently doesn;t have a light or fish yet and has a gravel substance. Would it be possible for me to plant java moss soit works as a backdrop on the back wall???

Yes you can tie the java moss, to a sort of grid and then let it grow in. I have see this done and look very good. Shrimp see to love it. i think the grid is stainless steel, or the plastic grid used for crafts.

It' a plastic grid, and is available at most craft stores. cut the grid to size, feed the moss through the holes, and let it establish. It will look awesome in your ten gallon as a back drop. Add a few other low light plants, and you are set.

2 pieces of mesh... moss in the middle... mesh sewn together... and the moss just grows through.

here's the mesh...
