can i have congo tetra in a 20g tank?? if so, what is a good number??

No, you cannot. They get to be a full 4 inches (adult males) and need to be in schools of 6 or so, though more is better. They are also active swimmers that require a lot of space. A 20g (even long) is just not adequate. Sorry

I agree. A 20g long might be big enough for one, but because they are schoolers its not big enough for a group. Maybe a 40g long or a 55.

Have you seen the pearl or moonlight gouramis? They could make a show fish in a 20 gallon and then be surrounded by smaller fish.
