How many if any, Congos can I keep in a 25 Gallon tank (24x12x20H)? I am ignoring all of my other fish that I have because they can be traded in, so its just a straight up answer.
Also take into consideration that I have a Bio Wheel filter for upto 30 gallons and an extra 15 gallon stingray filter which can be used at anytime, so filteration is not a problem, just space.

Thanks.. Anybody else? I'd like to have more options before I make my decision.
Thanks a lot.

Hmm I'd say 5 congos maximum. Doesnt sound like much but I've got 15 in a 75 gallon so I'd probably be comfortable with 5 in a 25 gallon...

They are very active and would be really better off in a longer tank. Maybe even a 38 gallon which is 36" wide x 12" deep and 20" tall.

Alright cool. I am gonna pick up 3 on the 2nd week of January. Then on May (birthday month) I am gonna get a 55 Gallon and sell my other tanks, so 3 Congos in a 25 Gallon is just temperary :D

I must say that one of the most beautiful things is a tank with a school of congos. My congos in the 75 gallon will eventually end up in a 120 gallon and then I will add 5 more to make it a school of 20. Mine are around 3 - 3.5" long. Would like to see them hit 4" or more.

Please post it if they do, because their max size is supposed to be around 3.25"!

Here you go. I have some pics of the congos. Some are larger than the others. Actually I have about 2-3 right now that might be nearly 4" long from nose to the end of their long fins! Held a ruler close to the glass and approximated when one went by.

Anyway here are some pics:
Note that the water looks yellowish due to the driftood and houseplants which have rooted from above into the tank (Ya I'm weird for doing it but they like going throughthe roots)
