Connecting Two Tanks

i have two small 2.5 gallon tank, usually used for fry. well my Jack Dempsey fry are just to big for the itty bitty tanks and im tried if having to do 2 water changes everyday... i want to some how connect them. Ive drawn out the plans as how i want it done. ill scan them tonight and post them but how do i connect the two sides and then ill need a new frame? if you can please give me a step by step process

10 gallon tank costs around $7 at any big chain retailer.

There are ways to connect them apparently, however I agree not cost effective. Would be better for you to sell these tanks ( perfect for people who like to keep many male bettas) and buy a 10 gal.
