I don't know what is wrong with my original thread, it won't load no matter which computer I use, no matter which browser and I've tried at different times. I tried other threads and they loaded but not mine!

So any ways, I need to put my betta in 1/8 tsp epsom salt in five gallons because he's very bloated from constipation. How long am I supposed to leave him in there?

I already did the pea thing and he ate a fair amount and I waited over 24 hours and am fasting him but nothing came out. It didn't work.

I really hope this thread works. Please erase the original.

You are right, that thread will not load for me either...very strange. Anyways...I have no idea what was covered in the old thread so here is my question: Are you sure he is constipated? Are you sure it isn't another illness? Have you tried feeding Daphnia, I heard it makes fish go poop real quick. :)

No, I don't think I'd be able to find it unless it were dried. And then I don't think it would do the trick? I read that I can soak his pellets in castor oil. I don't have any... I wonder if mineral oil would work.

I really wish some one would comment on the epsom salt thing.

i havnt heard of salt used for constipation before.. maybe to prevent further problems that the stress would cause him? dont ask me, but id only use a tiny bit of salt, if any.
but id feed him a shelled pea and then not feed him till he poops.
and theres no other symptoms? is he swimming like he usually does?

just read that you tried the pea thing.. symptoms?

It didn't work...

There's really no symptoms. He just has a bulge that keeps getting bigger. It's hard to turn him down when he's begging for food :grinyes: He's so cute.

But he's active and acting as normal as ever. The lfs diagnosed him. I was worried it could be dropsy because I've never seen it before and I really hope I won't because it looks sick!
