OK so my mother in law bought us a used 20 gal from a friend at her work. I'm planning on cleaning it up, and using it as a community tank, with a small school of tetras(6 or so), 2 male guppies, and another small school of some other fish I saw but forgot the name to
. In my current 10 gal I have a bio-wheel. I guess I was just wondering how to do a relativly sucessful conventional cycling (using the 2 male guppies). I was thinking of using some of the gravel from my 10 gal, and putting it in the new 20 gal, along with a plastic plant from the 10. Would it be helpful if I pulled the bio-wheel from the 10 gal's filter and used it in the 20 gal for awhile, until the cycle was done? Just wondering. Let me know what you think. Thanks
p.s.
after the 20 gal had established a good bio-system, I was planning on putting the bio-wheel back in the 10 gal.
