in my 75 gallon tank i have 1 gold severum and 2 keyholes...( can move the keyholes to my 50gallon is it doesn't work out) I'm going to the fishy shop tomorrow to get a parrot fish ...i would like to get 2 more smallish cichlids convicts or firemouths or 1 more severum which would be the less agressive and more compatible in my tank? Thankyou!

I assume that when you say parrot you mean blood parrot.

In my opinion, you could add 2 more severum. I don't recommend you go with convicts or firemouths as they are a bit more aggressive (in my experience). Another fish you might try are festivum. They're pretty peaceful, too.

imo only the severum would work. at first everything may seem fine but trust me, the convict or firemouth will get extremely aggressive as time goes by.

Although the firemouth will (likely) get more aggressive, the severum will also grow larger than the firemouth. My severum has no problem keeping my firemouth in his place. Convictlike, the honduran red point has a much more calm disposition than a convict. Might make a decent substitution. I would prefer rainbows to festivum myself.

i have my gold severum with a pair of convicts and a oscar and they all get along well never had any problems

i dont really like parrot but what ever floats your boat. i would get firemouths, convicts just breed like rabbits and get very aggressive

Wow. You found some real parrots. Excellent.

Do you know how big they get? Is a 75g enough for when its an adult? I don't remember exactly, but I think you'll have a big old fish on your hands!

Good luck.

they get to about 14" give or take 2" ... next year he will be in a 400gallon its currently being built into my mum and dads new house yay! hes only 2 inch now so by april he'll be ready!
