hey whats up i just bought my girlfriend a fish tank and i put some con's in it and i was wondering what else i could put in there with them. the reason i picked con is because they reproduce alot and so that i cna feed some of my other fish. i know that con's are kinda of nasty so i don't no what to put with them. have in mind this is in a 10 gallon i just need one or two fish somthing that is kinda of active. thanks.

That 10 is too small man. How many did you put in there? You're right in saying cons are nasty. In a tank that size more than likely one is going to kill everything else you put in. The chances of them pairing up is slim and as before the dominate fish will probably kill it's mate if it does happen. The information here says they need a tank of no less than 30 gallons. And the reputation I've learned from keeping them is they have horrible attitudes towards everything. The pair I had in a 90 only stayed to themselves when they had fry. But then the male or female would go out of thier way to attack another fish. Even my hand if it got stuck in there. Getting the 2 week old fry out was a chore.

I'd suggest taking the cons(s) back and getting something that suited for a 10. How about a few female guppies and a male. You'll still have fish to feed your other fish and your girlfriend won't fuss at ya for buying killer fish. Unless she see's your female guppies eat thier fry... :D

hey thanks for the reply i just have the con's because my friends fish had some babies so he gave them to me for feeders and so i keep 2 and put them in the 10 gallon. my friend had his in a 10 gallon and they where just fine the breed like crazy i think it might just be the fishes temperment how they will do in there. but thanks for the relpy do u think that i little dwarf frog could go in there or would they mess with it or else if anyting thanks.

depending on how big ur cons are, they may kill the frog or just ignore it.

A pair of Cons really should be in atleast a 20g tank. A male con can reach 6 inches long and the females about 3 inches. They can have very bad temperments and will probably kill just about anything you put in there. Especially if they are spawning. They are very protective of their fry and their territory.

BTW are your cons siblings??
