Copper sulfate in bottom feeder pellets?

I was at the LFS and for some reason I decided to read the ingredients in the bottom feeder pellets that I feed my corys and snails and shrimp. All the brands had copper sulfate in them! Isn't copper poisonous to snails? Could that be what is killing my snails off?

nope i used to think the same thing it safe dont worry.
i feed it to my crays and snails.

That's chelated copper. It's only a small trace and should be fine. We've discussed this a few weeks ago in a couple of threads.

Yeah, I freaked out when I found copper proteinate in one of the foods I had been feeding. But, that's okay too. No problems with my inverts either.

Even the new Hikari Shrimp food have copper protienate/sulfate I don't remember.
