I have a group of yellow polyps and they are spreading like a wild fire.... They are not on a rock that I want to frag either... (They are on my Texas Holy rock that I used for base rock to help make caves so I do not want to hurt my rock... What should I do to prevent the polyps from taking over the tank?

My only thought is to take a razor blade and take a couple of them off...

Any thoughts on how I can salvage these polyps so i do not have to throw them away? (I do not want to hurt my rock)

If you can, place smaller pieces of LR rubble in their path. They will grow up onto the rubble, then you can remove them to sell / trade / take in for credit.

Another option is one I've seen done with zoas numerous times... Take a pair of sturdy forceps, grab a small cluster of polyps near the base, then give it a stiff, strong tug. You'll basically rip them off the rock. You may lose a couple of polyps here and there, but it does solve your greater problem. Once removed, the unattached polyps can be reattached to another rock or a piece of rubble in various ways. I've seen many people use super glue gel, but I prefer to hold them in place with a rubberband and a piece of toule (wedding veil material). They'll attach to the new rock in a week or less, then you can pass them on however you choose.

if these are the yellow polyps i am thinking of, then i would not cut them... or if you do, make sure to wear gloves and eye protection....
what you could do is place something around them such as a shell or lr rubble and when they grow on that, remove it and sell them as frags!
