cost of red tailed catfish

Is it fair to the red-tailed cat to be put into a tank he'll outgrow?

My guess, $1000+ if you get a proper sized tank for him.
 
If I get the money,then Ill prolly upgrade to a 1500 gallon.Right now Im broke from spending so much on my other tanks.The rtc and the 2 tsn's arnt big yet so they dont need a tank upgrade now but I know they will sooner or later.
 
Hate to say it but it'll be sooner, they grow like weeds :)
