A general question to you all.........what would you pay for a small garden pond snail? Apple snail? Blue snail?
I was at the LFS the other day and the cheapest price was $3.69 for ONE snail!! :mad2 Can you believe this?

I bought one snail once. I think he was an apple snail (not too sure, he had a yellow shell though). He was really cool and named Sonny. Anyway, he cost $2.49, he was medium sized (shell was about 2" diameter).

Get a bunch of the cheapest stem plants. Most of the time you can find them for about $1. There should be plenty of small snails on there you don’t see. In about 2 weeks you will stat seeing them in your tank. But you never know what you’re going to get this way.

The pond snails will never achieve the same size as apple or mystery snail. I just picked up 3 big guys from Bob at bluecrayfish.com. Nice natives, huge suckers. He threw them in with my cray order, so I don't know how much he's selling them for individually.

For my gold incas I think I paid a buck a piece at the LFS

Man, around here Apple Snails go for $10 a piece. I bought one during a sale for $1. He crawled around for a couple weeks and has spent the last month floating around the surface. He's still alive but he will just float around in the current.

You get what you pay for....

Pond snails should be free. I'm sure they pick them out of their tanks and pitch them. I did have one place that tried to sell them for $.50 each. Told them everywhere else I'd been they give them away. They acted like they were as valuable as the Apple or Mystery snail. I asked them why they sell "Had a snail" if they are so valuable. They didn't budge, so somewhere else gets all of my busness.
