I moved my 10g fish to one of my 20 gallons since we upgraded the 20 to a 55.

Not even half a day after the move, the sparkling gourami start spawning!

^if you look really close, you can see the white eggs under the bubbles on the bottom of the driftwood.

Like what the heck lol

My 10g was emptied and refilled and I moved the cory fry to it as a bigger grow out. I put the 2.5g they were in into storage to use as a hospital tank.

Well, it looks like none of your fish are social distancing, lol. The corys look great! Good luck with your sparkler spawn. How fitting for our Independence weekend & they're legal in all states unlike the kind you can light ;) Yeah, I know you're Canadian

You can see the fry!

I've since transferred the entire nest and driftwood to a container with an airline since though. All fry are contained without other fish around. Theyre still in the nest and not free swimming yet though. Once they leave the nest, I will remove the driftwood and place a lid. Lower water as well to reach the surface for air easier.

One of my cory fry has a "nemo" fin. Ever see Finding Nemo? Yeah hes got a gimpy fin. I am keeping this one and Solo for myself.

SO TINY!!

They all left the nest today, so i gave the parents back their driftwood lol some moss from the parent tank and some Indian almond leaf. Airline set super gentle, like 2-3 bubbles a second. Got infusoria and baby cyclops available once they're ready to start eating.

Counted about 44 fry at least, there's probably more.
I'm nervous with gourami fry after the last time around with the dwarf gourami. But luckily its summer and my household temps are quite warm enough without heaters (I've turned heaters off lol)

Congratulations ! Great pictures as always. I've got some shiner fry, they're even smaller as the sparkling gourami fry and almost completely transparent, too, they're very hard to see.

F fishorama I assume it is the same female, the more dominant of the two, because she is the most beat up right now. The smaller, darker female is pretty porky still and in better shape lol

And both females. The redder one is the one that's been spawning

Neat seeing the fry hunt. Seeing how these guys have developed already within a couple days compared to the dwarf gourami fry... there was definitely something wrong with the DG fry from the start. These guys are way more food driven and way more lively! And I actually witness them eating.

Just look at the development differences between the last video to this one

I was playing with our mini microscope the other night though. Put a cyclops in a drop of water for viewing. Then took the mini microscope to the side of the container and took a peak at one of the fry.
