A slack handfull of about 3 - 5 in my opinion....HOWEVER, be carefull with the green brittle star, they are very predatious...
Depends on the size of them...When they get big, they will feed on anything it can smother with its arms....and that includes fish and snails..
haha, i knew you'd make a comment about the color of the star, reefscape 
thanks to you i know to stay away from the green ones, which is a good thing to know as i'm a sucker for critters that are colorful. i'd be really sad if i woke up one day and my star had eaten my beloved blood shrimp...

i recently got rid of my green brittle star. he at about $150 of fish in 2 days. all tolled he probably ate over $300
