Im just wondering if crayfish can be affected by ich and or carry it....I got a beautiful blue clawy crawish from a tank with ich and im wondering how long i should quaranteen him etc....
yes i believe that ich can affect crustaceans, but they are very sensitive to ich medications, so don't treat it. I would put him in a tank and see how he fairs because treatment is not an option, at least by using most traditional remedies.
Ich cannot infect crustaceans, but the advice to QT the critter separately is well founded. Passive transport of infectious tomites is perfectly possible, and many Ich medications are deadly to crustaceans.
there were a couple feeder fish in the tank....so ill keep my eye on them too. Also does anyone know if i feed one of the feeders to my eel could it possibly due harm to him if it has ich?? I wouldnt think so because he can dissolve bones....
