I have a firemouth that started swiming around and slaming her self in to the sides of the tank yesterday. She is also breathing hard. Help I need some info on what should I do.:help:

sounds like not enough oxygen in the tank, trying adding an air pump?

perhaps the combination of room lighting and tank lighting is causing the fish to see its reflection on the tank wall and 'attack' itself? have you changed anything in regards to lamps in the room lately?

another possibility is that the fish is flashing (rubbing face and gills on things in a fast motion) because of parasites or gill flukes. do the gills look red or inflamed?

I had this same problem with a firemouth years ago. there was nothing wrong with my water and even with the lights dim or off he continued until he died. So what the issue is I can not begin to guest.
