I bought a butis butis the other day. So far he only hides in a cave. From what I understand they come out at night. How do you view nocturnal fish? Or will he start to come out more when he feels safer. I had to turn on the light this morning at 6 am. He was out for a few minutes and then went back into the cave. andrew

all the nocturnal fish that I have owned become diurnal because they adapt to their feeding time. butis butis do like to hide- i suggest just giving it some time.
Give it a week or two. Also dont feed for the first few days. The fish need to relax and de stress from their trip.
