As some of you may know I had a little oranda die of flukes recently. His tank mate was very upset and was promptly treated for flukes. To get to the point, I got her a little Ryukin buddy. It was the smallest one I could find which fit well with my tiny oranda. This may not be possible, but they have definetly paired off and rarely swim alone. The ryukin appears to have breeding bumps but only on one side. They are in a 20 gallon tall and are doing great. Now, can they crossbreed? If so what would happen?

All goldfish are the same species and can interbreed freely, just like dogs. You'll just have 'mutt' goldies, which is fine if you're not trying to sell them for big bucks.

It is a cute little orange and white oranda. When I say very small I mean it has its permanent colors and is about 2-3 inches long the other one is slightly bigger. I'll try to take a picture for you guys.

Sorry the pics are so bad.
