I read the crushed coral sticky and i was wondering if you crushed the coral to almost sand would that be alright. Or do you have to buy the sand. Thank you
Emery

It might be more constructive if you woulld buy some sand from the hardware or home improvement store. I bought southdown sand for $10 for 50lbs. Saved me tons of money and time to do it right the first time.

i already have a 29 gal with crushed coral in it but i am going to set up a 55gal and eventually get corals. I have an old corn grinder that is clean enough to crush it or i can find a different way. The sand would be easyier but i figure i might as well use what i have. I will sell it back to my lfs and go get me some sand if that wouldn;t work. Any thoughts will help. Thanks

As long as you can crush it to 1 to 2 mm for the most part it should be ok. That's pretty neat I'd be afraid that it would ruin your corn grinder or that there would be chemicals etc on it ,pestacides, herbacides etc. If your sure that there aren't go for it.
