Quick question i've put some crypts in a new tank and there melting as i expected. I think there wendtii(sp?) There from tropica Cryptocoryne Div. is the name on the tag. Any idea how long the melt will last? Not all the leaves have melted just the older growth.. It was a total score a 3x3" pot loaded with crypts for 15$ cad they were 43$ at big als he he All beacuse the sign said "Large potted plants 14.99" implying tall ones they said i was technicaly right and sold em cheap.. i'm happy.

Leave them alone and try not to bother them. It will take a couple of months to establish and shoot new leaves. As long as you leave the root system alone and give the plant what it needs, it will come back, no worries. Take the melted pieces parts out to keep you water clean, and be patient. Any new environment sends them in a downward spiral for a while.

Wendtii are awful melters, mine goes at the drop of a hat. The major melt usually last a week or so before they start sending new growth.
