no offense to you but it would be better to buy a little more than 1 of each gender. if either die your s.o.l. and you have to pay shipping anyways so you might as well ask for a few more of each

You'd be better off starting with a batch of lower-grade shrimp and selectively breeding them. After all, that's where the higher-grades all came from...

Hi
I have yo ask you some questions

first have you kept CRS before
what is your PH
what is your substrate
do you have a chiller for the summer time
have you EVER dosed copper base chemicals in the tank
what other thing are in the tank (fish/inverts)

You don't need a RO unit but lowered PH under 7.0 is a very big help
soft water is a ++++
constant temp under 72 and above 68 is very important

do you dose or use the EI for ferts.

what is your budget as SS are close to $40.00 to $60.00 each and up

How do you keep the temperature down? As I live in Hawaii, the tank in my office never gets under 78 degrees.

78 is about the high temp range for the higher grades
you can use a chiller or open top with a fan
electronic chiller if the tank is smaller.
raise the height of the lights off the water
keep the lights of in the hottest times of the day.
