Cucumbers and Zuchenni

just need to get a chunk of one and find some way to weight it down, also you can use a small clip suction cupped to the inside wall of the tank for some lettucd or other such leafy greens that are enjoyed as well.

I know I seen something at a lfs once it was almost like a straw ran through the middle of a piece of cuke, with a small plastic weight on the bottom which was buried under the gravel and the fish were going to town.

the best way that i found to get veggies to stay on the bottom is to use a stainless steel fork.works every time.just stab the fork through the very edge of the veggies and drop into tank....voila

I boil a cup of water in the microwave and then put a peeled 1/2 inch slice of zucchini in it for a few minutes. I find the fish prefer them when it's a bit softer. Then I just stick a plant weight through the bottom. Works a charm.

why do you need it to be weighted? they will come to the surface and eat the veggies, don't worry. I just cut off a few slices and let them float, next morning I have a ring of peel and remove it into the trash. Nothing to fish off the bottom after you're done. I use zucchini, havn't tried anything else but I would imagine about any hard veggie such as these are good choices. Mine don't seem to like lettuce though. They will eat it after a long while, maybe after it starts to rot. Kyle

I microwaved a piece of zuchini in some water in the mic. It got soft and waterlogged. I wa going to tie it with an elastic to a rock, but its lying on the bottom itself. Now if only plekky will come out to eat  By the way, how long can I leave it there?
