how do you culture microworms?
finally found someone who has them,
i'm planning to breed my bettas.
but find bbs to be tooo much work:)
any advice /instructions on keeping microworms.

I used a tupperware bowl and some plain oatmeal. Prepare the oatmeal as on the package, and scoop some into the bowl. You want it to be a bit runny--not soupy, but not dry. The microworms will eat the oatmeal, and climb the sides, making them easy to get out and feed. Keep a loose cover on the bowl so it doesn't dry out but still gets a bit of fresh air, and in a dark cupboard. I had to start a new culture about every 2-3 weeks--you'll smell the oatmeal start to turn if you wait too long.

I use instant potato flakes and make them into a mush. Then add some microworms to the mix and in about a week the top is covered with them. Like OG said they climb up the sides then I just take them from there.

I have started many new cultures but the original is still going strong from months ago.
