Ok so i setup my 55 gallon cichlid tank with aragonite went and got my male malawi put him in there with some sponge squeezings in the filter now im reading 0 ammonia 0 nitrites and nitrates between 10 and 20 closer to 20. Anyone know ? Could it be cycled?

Unless you added something to the water, I doubt you're cycled yet. It probably hasn't really begun to get started.

When you squeezed the sponge, you could have added a bit of nitrates to your tank, from the water transfer.

I'd keep an eye on things over the next few days. I have a feeling you haven't begun to see a cycle yet.

from your original post, it looks like you only have 1 cichlid in the 55g right now? just feed it normally, and measure the params for a few days. If your nitrate starts going up but ammonia/nitrite remains 0, then you are cycled with 1 fish.

Keep in mind even if it's cycled, you are likely to see ammonia spikes when you add more fish since the bacterial required to deal with 1 fish isnt a lot. So add fish gradually, instead of all at once.
