got a new 90 gallon...cycling questions...have a lot of old tank material going to go in...gravel,driftwood,filter medium,...also going to do some fishless cyclingm maybe...if i dont do fishless cycling what kind of "hardy" fish and how many for a 90 gallon??

If you have that many old "biologically active" components to add to the new tank definately go fishless for the fishes sake .. I just started a 65g 7 days ago and squeezed out some sponges from my twenty and borrowed some seasoned water and I already have my Ammonia droping and Nitrites and Nitrates going through the roof.. so maybe 14 days MAX to finish the cycle ..... your mileage may vary

I agree with the fishless cycle concept because it is easier on the fish, but if you want some starters on a big tank I always use giant Danio's, they are inexpensive, and the only way I've ever found to kill them is to take them out and lay them on the desk for 15 minutes (sometimes longer for the tough ones)
