I have a silver molly getting black spots on her. Do dalmation mollies start out as a dalmation molly or are they just one color when they're young???

As molly's mature their coloring can change, but most dalmatian mollies have good patterns already developed by the time they are sold. Only young fry might be absent some coloring, usually depends on the parents. Did you buy a dalmatian molly, or did you buy something else that is now developing black spots? How old was the fish when you bought it, how long have you had it?

I bought it as a siver molly. I thought mabey it was mislabeled. It's about 1 and a hlaf inches now. Ive had it for about a month.

Colors become more pronounced as they mature but whenever I've had baby dalmation fry they were dalmation looking at birth. Are you sure it's his coloring or is it possibly something else?

It's probably something else. But I just wanted to make sure it wasn;t a dalmation molly.
