Hi,

So, a week ago I noticed that one of my danios has not been eating. And then last night, the other ones seem to have lost their appetite.. I dont see any other physical symptoms of disease, they seem to be swimming fine, anyone know what might be going on? I thought it might be a high nitrate level, but my readings are ammonia 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 1.0. Thanks for any suggestions..

Three questions:

1. What are you feeding them?
2. How often?
3. Have you seen any white stringy poop from them?

I feed them tropical flakes twice a day, and once a week i give them frozen brine shrimp. I honestly have not been paying attention to their poop, but if that could be a symptom of something, i will try to find out.. What do you think it might be?

I have not watched them that closely to be honest, I dont know.. But it would be kind of strange if all of them got constipation at the same time, no?

So far, I have never seen my zebra danios poop--unlike my platies who have it hanging all the time! They don't seem to eat too much either, unlike the other piggies in the tank. Sometimes a couple don't even bother eating at feeding time. They are very happy and healthy though. Hopefully yours isn't ill. Good luck.

Are your other fish eating as normal?

My other fish seem to be fine, but i have only added the tetras and the gourami within the last week.. the catfish i have had for 2 weeks, they seem fine.. The danios also seem to be pretty stationary, which is unlike their normal behavior..

well i'd becareful and make sure to watch for constipation or swim bladder. If you can throw a few peas in there for them!

I've never had a problem with my danios not eating, infact I've never seen them not eat!
