Are there any dario breeders out there? i have a pair that has spawned several times, but i've only had one offspring survive... that was a complete fluke too. i did nothing special except feed freshly hatched BBS daily and found a mini dario... whenever i try to actually care for the spawn, i find no survivors. in caring for them, i add microworms and vinegar eels as food and monitor them.

also, does anyone own any other darios besides dario dario? perhaps d. hysignon?

If i can get a small group of 3 or 4 pairs I am going to start breeding them, I've just been having trouble finding both sexes. I may end up having to get a large group.

What are the particulars in their breeding behaviors?

I'd imagine they'd need green water/infusoria for the fry to have much of a chance.

i once ordered 16 wild caught darios in hopes to get a few females... they were all males! i was lucky enough to have ordered a pair several years ago... i saw pairs available around the beginning of the year, but didn't jump on it. i regret not buying any...

You're lucky enough to get a female! Keep experimenting and I'm sure you'll find something that works. You may have to feed smaller foods.

i feel very fortunate to have a female. her original partner (i bought as a pair) isn't doing so well... i hope its not old age... that would mean her time is almost up as well
