dead dwarf puffer

i had a dwarf puffer and i found it dead this morning. i had previously noticed a pink spot on its side, but i did not know what it was. the puffer was acting perfectly normal yesterday. when i took it out, the pink spot covered a large portion of the fish and it looked like someone had just scraped the skin off the fish.

Which tank was it in, the 2.5 or the 20? Have you tested the water? If it was in the 20 I could expect the barbs. And if the water quality was not so good, an open wound would be suseptable to infection.

Definately which tank and give us help on the parameters. DP's are aggressive and do not have scales (so they can puff). And an open wound can cause infection easily.
