My female and male ram never bonded, but they seemed to tolerate each other pretty well; he'd push, she'd push back, no real problems. But yesterday I didn't see her when I was feeding / watching the tank. She was hiding from the male who had become quite vicious in his pushing, so I removed her from the tank to live in my betta tank temporarily.
I acclimated her in about 30 minutes since I was more worried about rapid temperature changes than water chemisty shock.
This morning I found her dead from stress.
But on the upside I saw two baby platies swimming around and hiding in my sister's 10 gallon. And there should be more on the way since the mom is still chock full of babies.
