Deco Art 5/8 gallon desktop tank anyone?

While browsing the LFS I saw they had a cool little desktop aquarium called a "Deco Art" made by Red Sea. Has anyone used or tried one of these? They come with a little halogen light or a 7w power compact flourescent.

Thoughts or experiences?

Pretty small for keeping fish. Does it come with any type of heating or filtration?

They come with a very small HOB and a power compact light, but no heater. It's too small for even the smallest heater so it would have to be kept in a room with a fairly constant temp. I was thinking of an anubias barteri var barteri, maybe some floating plants and a snail or two. I hadn't really thought about keeping fish in it. Is that too small for a betta?

A betta will be fine in a 5 gallon tank.

It's not 5 gallons. It's 5/8 of a gallon, so likely less than half a gallon filled after gravel and plants.

I'll try 3-4 cardinal tetras, a pleco and a betta to start. If that's too much I'll take out the tetras.

Stick with small animals

Azoo makes palms that are similar in artsyness as well

i have one of these decoart tanks...it's cute. of course, i have only 3 little baby fries in it, with light and filter.
