I have five denison barbs in a 90g community tank. One of them started looking like this a few days ago:

The others are fine. Any idea what's going on?

It looks as though someone's beating on it. I have had six in my 100g for some years and have never seen this on them. They are roughly 4-5" all of them. I have my fish in with rainbows, rasboras, an adult angel, and nobody gets picked on....maybe territory or something? Or it could be a disease, alas, I cannot help. I wish Byron was still here.

I would have to agree with it being picked on. I have a large tinfoil barb that is prone to freaking out and crashing through the tank, knocking off its scales in the process. Could be that barb is hurting itself by running into or rubbing on decorations.

I also noticed 2 angels in your photo. Are they a breeding pair?
