Difference between Discharge Connection and Diffusor

Hi Friends !

I just finished installing my new Eheim 2048 Internal Filter. In the manual they've mentioned 2 options as follows-

1. Discharge Connection - for water surface movement
2. Diffusor - Oxygen Supply (not recommended for tanks with plants)

What is the difference between these 2 and which is better ? Why have they mentioned that the later shouldnt be used with planted tanks ?

I already have good aeriation, so should I go with the Discharge Connection itself ?

Currently, I've installed the Oxygen Diffusor and closed the valve of the tube completely , because the tiny bubbles were just too messy. Will this put pressure on and harm the filter in any way ?

It sounds like you are using the diffuser as a simple discharge connnection. You don't want to use too much aeration in a planted tank using CO2. It can tend to drive the CO2 out of the water.

well i dont have that filter. the diffusor putting o2 in the water pro causing surface agitation. that would gas out the co2. i dont think it would harm it all.
