Hi I have difficulty feeding my clown loaches since all the algae wafers or any other sinking wafers that i put into the tank gets eaten by the JDs...anyone have any idea to let the loaches get their fair share of food? thanx

how big are the fish? if the clown loaches are smaller than the jd's, it is possible to put food in a bottle or similar then sink it. the clown loaches can get in but noone else can. failing that sinking catfish pellets should make it past the jd's if enough are put in. once on the bottom the clowns will have the upper hand. if the loaches are timid doing this after lights out should help.
i have the same problem with my reedfish that shares a tank with a pair of oscars, i have to hand feed him whilst trying to distract the oscars - ie let them chew on my other hand :D

I use two ways to get food to bottom fish. If you want to feed frozen foods (bloodworms, brine shrimp, etc.)you can use a turkey baster and squirt the food into the clown loaches hiding places. If using sinking foods I use a piece of intake tube or whatever kind of 2" (or so) diameter tube you have and put the food in the top and it sinks through the tube without the larger fish seeing it straight to the bottom. My clowns know this and most the time are eating straight from the bottom of the tube. This would work best if you fed the JDS on the other side of the tank while sliding the sinking food through the tube on the other side. Best of luck!
