Bichirs will nip at other fish and if they are bigger than the other fish, they will eat it. Now, behabior can change from fish to fish but in general bichirs should be kept with other bichirs/primitive fish. I would say 1 seng. bichir alone is ok in a 29, however they seem much more entertained when another is around, in which case a 35 wide would be good. Seriously though, go to MFK or aquaticpredators.com for info on bichirs
