dino Bichir

I could tell you but what is the fun in that?

:D I like your sense of humor, Ice.

Yes, magafish, the point is you needed to do the research BEFORE you got the fish. If you have them in a 29 gal now, with livebearers and whatnot, you're going to regret it when they start to get big and potentially predatory.

Anyway, the good news is that they are pretty hardy, and will survive. However, the question is "not the survive, but thrive" as many on this forum have said before.

That's a very awesome thing about bichirs. While their not invincible, they can stand up against a number of diseases and be fine. I have NEVER had ich take hold to my bichirs when I kept them with some tetra's (now became food) nor since they have been kept alone. My pleco with them had it but the bichirs were fine, never showed any signs. I have had others too and the bichirs never showed signs. Very hardy fish! They want room to swim though and eat whatever they can fit in their mouths.

sure.

dino ell GET HUGE AND EAT ANYTHING THEY CAN CATCH. at least there slow :joke:

So glad I found this site

I bought one of these "dino eels" from Pet Smart and they said it was a bottom feeder!!

After a week of watching it I realized that it was way too active for a bottom feeder. Now I know. I threw some dried blood worms in there and its going crazy. Stupid Petsmart. Anyway, it should be a good addition to my tank. It will probably be joined by some knife fish or gouramis soon.

How big of a tank are we talking about, poon?

At the moment I have a 10 gallon (dont freak out). I have been putting off buying a larger tank until I move. I had a larger tank with my old roomate and we always kept aggressive and mostly carnivorous fish.

Ill just bump up my plans for a bigger tank. Right now its just a couple fish in there and as long as the dino thing does not grow too big in the next month, everything should be good. Ill probalby get a 30 to 50 gallon tank depending on space.
