hey all, I was thinking about doing somthing new to my tank yesterday, and I noticed that thier is a water pipe above my closet right next to my fish tank.

I got this crazy Idea of cuting the pipe and adding a T to it, then run some pipe into the tank with a on/off flawset. that way I could fill the tank no problem when ever it got low.

problems

1. the water pipe is copper....
2. its a cold water pipe

think it would be worth it?

I dont think I need one, the water up here in colorado is crystal clear, the best in america I figured it wouldn't matter from the copper pipe becuase the water I get out of the sink comes out of the pipeing as well....

Hmm. So you're just talking about using this for topping off the tank? How much water does it take to top off your tank each day?

there are little electronic solenoid valves. You could either wire them up to a timer or a float switch. Could you maybe drill a hole in your sump and route that to a drain line somewhere?

yea, I would most likely put it in the sump, and I do like the idea of the float swtich, kinda like how a toilet works right?
