discus prices

April who operates petsbeautiful (actually has a shop) is a simplydiscus.com sponsor and she gets a lot of her stock from Kenny. I also saw mentioned by one of the simply members that you'll find some discus folks registered on bcaquaria.com as well.

Just do your research and try to make sure the fish are local bred. there are some great suggestions mentioned.

$10.00 An inch is a good price for breeder Discus. Some cost more for exotic strains. Try to get fish raised in local tap. This may not be possible but will help greatly in maintaining your tanks. That is my secret to keeping Discus.

Yea, at first I didn't know if you were talking about the April I was thinking of.:D She is a very reputable breeder/seller as well.

A number a factors can effect the price you think is good for any fish.
1. Picked up or shipped.
2. Size, age and sex.
3. Rarity- how common in the wild and how collectable. Can they be farmed and/or tank bred?
4. Availability- how difficult to find for sale.
5. Health/condition. (One healthy fish is worth at least 3 or more dead ones.)

And then after all of the above, how badly do you want it, how much is it worth to you and can you afford that? Everything is relative.
