Mine spawn and hatch in dechlorinated tap water at a ph 7.6. Discus are beautiful but they are a commitment to more frequent water changes than most other fish. If you buy young discus and are not committed to ensuring they have exceptional diet and water quality, you will wind up with a batch of sickly stunted discus. I think Discus will be something I try later in life. With a newborn due (our first) in April I doubt I will have nearly enough time for these beauties. Hopefully I will have time for what I have right now...

when the child gets older you may find you have alittle helper.

Im in the same boat man. lol Our first born is coming may 6th and my LFS just got discuc and there juvis and adults. 25.00 for 2incher. Good color and peppering. But I have to move to a 2 bedroom already this next week. money, money, money right.
