Have some kind of external bug on my fish (amazonian).

White spots - but not 100% certain it is ich.

- salt/heat for much earlier case of ich (months ago) and nothing added t tank since.

New problem not treated by malachite green (two treatments at 1/2 strength becuase of tetras and catfish)
Then tried tetracycline - no results
Then just added third course of triple sulfa

However, after these consecutive treatments, tank not looking good and amonia levels are way up (nitrite and nitrate are ok though?!)

Any advice? :help2:

Am doing urgent water change now.

Have not lost any fish - but fins on angels look bad.

You're seeing ammonia because the meds probably killed off your good bacteria (tetracycline, especially, is an antibiotic and will kill the bacteria) . In effect, you're now in a fishy cycle. Keep up with the water changes and test the water daily. You should start seeing nitrites as the bacterial colony builds back up. Do a partial water change whenever you see ammonia or nitrite levels above .25.

The water changes and keeping the water quality spotless will help the angels' fins heal.
