Im looking to make a diy 3d background, with caves and hidy holes for a lake malawi tank.

Does anyone have experience with anything like this, or know of an web pages with technical info about them?

any help appreciated.

do you mean in the tank or on the outside of the tank?
In either case, you may consider reposting on the cichlid forum, you'd probably get a better response

Back-to-Nature backgrounds....

Does anyone know if these are sold anyplace in the US? I really like the amazon back ground but it probably cost to much from buying it across seas.

Mr Chimps, check out this idea. I love it and will eventually incorporate some of the ideas from it. Maybe not do it exactly, but similar.

Mr CHimp

I made one out of foam, epoxy, sand and posted about it a few weeks ago in this forum - just like the cichlid guys - LOL.

Click on the My Tank Pictures link below in my signature - it will take you to my web page that has pictures and a How To which walks you threw the steps you should follow to make your own very realistic looking fake wall with caves, hidey holes, etc. You can do one for about $40 to $50 - versus $300+ for the back to Nature ones.

post if you have any questions
