Neat idea. You know with the wight of the glued rocks on the outside and a little lower cut doors (smaller), one could place an airline inside and make a crab dry habitat as well.

I have been wanting to buy a crab habitat for my Goldie community tank but they want too much for such a simple device. The difficult Part is how to weight it to the bottom. But after seeing your idea I have inspiration to find a clear enough bowl with a flat top I could get the top weighted and glued with gravel or maybe a few large stones, leaving the sides for viewing.

I use that same approach to sink bits of PVC pipe for my plecos and cats. A little tedious but it works great and looks good.
