I think the weekend Im going to go out and get the materials I need to build a stand for my new 44 gallon pentagon tank that I picked up real cheap.

But then thing is Ive been looking online trying to find some plans for building tank stands and can only find plans for square/rectangle stands, which would work but it wont look as nice as haveing it made to fit the pentagon shape.

Anyone have any suggestions on building the pentagon shape? Im sure I could go out and do it just wonder if theres anything I should really know about building a non square stand.

I have never built one but if you are good with tools you should be fine, build it like you would a normal rectangle tank stand. Adjust the joins to suit the angles of the pentagon, instead of the 90 degree angles on a rectangle stand.
make sure it has enough supports and braces to hold the weight.

Well its going pretty good, I got the frame built and it as sturdy as a rock. I just cant seem to get the plywood on the sides evenly haha, I dont know what my problem is. Ill have to work on it somemore tommormow.

Well to the best of my knowledge I did :)

I dont exactly have all the tools one should have, I have a circular saw, power drill, sander, and a sawsall, and like a measureing tape and a pencil :), thats basicly what I built the frame with, Im going to pick up a level and do the fine tuneing to it either tommorow or monday.

Well she isn't pretty but I have it all put togeather. I still have to paint it and put a shelf in it and some other finishing touches.

Heres some pictures I took when I brought it down to the basement tonight. :D

Nice! Good job man!

Thanks :)

It was acually a bit harder then I thought it was going to be. This was acually the first real thing Ive built:) There are many things uneven and not perfect but it gives it character.

Next one will be better ;)
