I'm converting my 10g tank into a habitat for one or two green tree frogs, and want to make my own cascade through the tank. The longer the better really. It would have to be relatively small so the frogs have enough ground space.

What kind of "machinery" would I use to get this small amount of water to run through my tank? And since it will be in my room and in a relatively small space it can't make too much mechanical noise or take up too much room.

Cheers.

I agree with Jaysn.

Your local lawn and garden center should have what you need. Home Depot carries one by Beckett that moves up to 60 gal/hr and is adjustable to pump slower if needed. The price is just over $20. Or if you know someone that has one of those little desk fountains stuck in the back of their storage shed, get it and take the pump out of it.

Dave

Hey, its not the same thing but, I have been thinking of setting up a BW tank for fiddler crabs and fish. I am thinking of having a two tank system with pumps that would flood the land area daily(the land area would be affixed about 2/3 the way up the height of the tank with drains) to simulate tides. The "tide" would borrow water from the other tank then return it at the recession of the "tide".

In your case you could put the pump on a timer to turn it off when you want quiet. good luck with the setup

Our Lowes sells small fountain pumps that I'm sure would be adaptable.

Ergo, sometimes it helps to ask people's opinions, not just look at google. Besides which, this will be a complete first for me so I'm a little intimidated.

Could I use an air filter? Maybe run the hose up to the top? It dosen't need to put down too much water.
