Do all plecos grow big?

Hello!

I was wondering if all plecos grow to be super-huge? I love looking at the big-gigantic plecos at petstores, but I am wondering if the pleco we have will ever be that size? Do certain breeds of plecos get larger than other breeds?

no not all plecos get big the clown,blue eyed and the britslnose pleco don't get very big. what kind of pleco do u have?

I'm not really sure what kind of pleco he is! (we don't know for sure that he is a he... we have just always called him that!) I did some reading online and couldn't really find anything that said what specific type of pleco we had.. all I could find were pictures and ID's of fancy plecos.

Chances are, it is a common pleco. If so, he will grow pretty big.

You have to love plecos, they can be very interesting at times.

Just first guess....it look slike a gibbiceps, and yes it will get big if thats the correct ID.

It looks like a common pleco as someone pointed out so it'll get BIG! You should see some of the plecos that have made it into the waterways around my house. Talk about HUGE!

WOW! So, we were at a store this evening and saw a pleco that look just like ours... except he was, well.... as long as my fore-arm. We MUST get a bigger tank!!!
