hey, i was thiking of gettin a couple of clown loaches of a freind to lower the snail population in my 60 gal. but i also have a small shrimp colony in there, maybe about 15, 1 to 1 and a half inch shrimp. i thought as they eat snails, which are crunchy, would they eat shrimp to, as they are also crunchy?

It's not so much the crunchy part of the snail, just the foot and other soft tissue.

When you throw apple snails into a loach tank, they will leave you with empty apple snail shells that are not chewed on, just sucked clean of the snail.

I feed ghost shrimp to my bichirs and oscars, but I've never noticed the clowns going after them, but then again, we're usually too busy watching the bichirs stalk them.

Shrimp that small, I wouldn't chance it.
