My blue spot puffer was looking ghostly today...literally. It was faded in a lot of areas and sitting in the corner looking sad. So I was wondering if maybe he was hungry and went to get food. I came back and he knew I was going to feed him, so he started pooping...maybe to make room? Except a bunch of sand came out, followed by entire hermit crab legs undigested!

:yuck:

Thoughts on this peculiar scenario?

Yes, fish do get constipated. Poor puffer, sound horrible. I hope he gets better soon.

its not really constipated but rather called impacting

when a fish ingests something that blocks the natural flow shall we say, or in any animal for that matter

Yes, this happens sometimes. For constipation and bloating, try feeding shelled peas. However, I don't know if that will help with hermit crab legs. Maybe next time it will chew.:wall:

I forgot about this thread (for good reason). He's better now, thanks all! :dance2:
