Do fish like bubbles?

Our tank has a "bubble wand" that runs across the back. I added this to improve aeration and circulation, and because I like the way the curtain of bubbles looks.

Our 2 cory cats really seem to like the bubbles... they'll both hang out at the back of the tank and repeatedly "ride" the current of bubbles up to the top then swim down and do it again, over and over. They really seem to enjoy it.

In the past few days, I've also noticed our neons playing in the bubbles too. They'll all gather up in a back corner, and take turns darting through the bubbles like it's some sort of amusement park ride.

Are these guys really having "fun" in the bubbles as it appears? Or is there some other explanation?

My 3 neons and cories -- I have a school of 4 leopards and 1 Agassiz's (they adopted him) -- LOVE the bubbles and ride them exactly the way you are describing. It's cool watching them and they seem to take turns doing it.

Yes, exactly... you can almost hear them saying, "wooooooohooooooooo... hey man, you gotta try this!"

My neons do the same thing; can almost hear them shouting "Surfs Up!"

The black molly has been known to surf also!
