Do pleco fish eat small shrimp?

Hmm... good question. Plecos would eat baby shrimp, but not adults. THey wouldn't eat that much, but it would slow breeding by a lot.

Plecos DO require more than algae in their diet, however they won't mess with shrimp. I wouldn't be surprised if they did eat one or too babies, but it won't impact the breeding by much at all. (I'm basing this off my experience with keeeping Bristlenose Plecos and a common pleco with RCS.

Most plecos depending on species are detrius feeders they will eat practicaly anything as long as they can find it. I doubt any pleco except for Pseudiansistrus sp would actively hunt Shrimp or any water column living organism. If its dead or dying or stuck somewhere then yes most plecos would eat it but its not a pleco trait to hunt anything except for worms and gravel dwelling invertebrates.

Thanks everyone. I might just end up putting some pleco's in a different tank with some fish instead of my all shrimp tank. Thanks
